Part Load Haulage, Eight Pallets and Up

Too big for the pallet network, not enough to fill a trailer. Steve Jones, our transport lead, finds a vehicle with space on your route and quotes the part you use.

The gap between the network and a full trailer.

The pallet network stops at seven spaces. A full trailer takes 26. Most consignments of eight to twenty pallets sit between the two, and that is where a part load earns its keep.

Steve compares a dedicated vehicle against space on a trailer already running your route. You get the better rate, the goods are handled fewer times, and the whole consignment travels together.

Two postcodes to start. No account needed.

One request. Quoted by hand.

Part loads depend on what is already moving on your route, so they are not priced on the spot. Flexible dates usually mean a better rate.

Our standard terms apply. Part loads are carried by the haulier we appoint, so four points differ from a network pallet.

Questions about part loads

What counts as a part load?

Roughly eight to twenty standard pallet spaces: more than the pallet network takes, less than a full trailer. Above that, a full truckload is usually the better rate.

Will my goods share a trailer?

Often, yes. That is what keeps the price down. If your goods cannot share, tell Steve and he will quote a dedicated vehicle instead.

How quickly can a part load move?

It depends on what is already running your route. Fixed dates are possible; flexible dates usually mean a better rate because Steve can match you to an existing movement.

Do I need a forklift?

Not always. Tell Steve what equipment is at each end and he will arrange a tail lift or Moffett if needed.

Is a part load tracked like a network pallet?

Not through the online tracker. Steve stays your single contact from quote to delivery and keeps you updated directly.
