Can You Ship Glass?
Glass items must be packed securely to prevent damage during handling and transport. If your goods are not properly protected, they will not be accepted for collection.
Pack glass in a strong outer crate or frame
Glass panels, windscreens and windows must be packed in wooden crates, framed cases or other rigid packaging. Shrink wrap alone is not enough to protect fragile items. The packaging must be strong enough to prevent the glass from breaking if the pallet is moved or stacked.
Secure your pallet correctly
All glass must be loaded onto a pallet with no overhang. The packaging should be fixed securely to the pallet to stop it shifting during transit.
Apply warning labels and orientation arrows
Clearly mark your packaging with “Fragile” and “Handle with Care” labels. Use orientation arrows to show which way up the pallet should be handled. Labels must be visible on all sides of the pallet.
Your responsibility
The pallet network does not provide additional protection for fragile items. You must pack your goods correctly to prevent damage. Goods that are poorly packed or unprotected will be rejected.
