Brexit & Requirements

Brexit - the gift that keeps on giving. Since the UK left the EU, pallet deliveries into Europe now require full customs paperwork. We make the process simple, but there are rules to follow.

What paperwork do I need to ship goods into Europe?

Every pallet delivery into Europe needs a commercial invoice. This is not optional. The invoice must be accurate and complete before your goods are collected.

If it is incomplete or incorrect, your delivery will be delayed at customs or refused entry. No one wants that.

See our commercial invoice guide for what to include.

Do I need a commercial invoice for Northern Ireland?

No, as Northern Ireland is part of the UK for customs. But we still need some key details:

  • If delivering to a private individual, just select 'Residential' at checkout - no invoice needed.
  • If delivering to a business, we will need the receiver's EORI number and they must be registered with the Trader Support Service (TSS).

Do I need an EORI number for Northern Ireland?

Yes, if the receiver is a business. Enter their XI EORI number when you book. They also need a TSS account. Residential deliveries do not need an EORI number.

Why is this so complicated? I have sent parcels with other couriers post-Brexit and it was easier.

Couriers often use simplified customs processes for small parcels. Pallet deliveries are classified as freight and must follow full international customs rules. That means EORI numbers and a full commercial invoice for every shipment. These are government requirements, not ours.
