Meet the Team - Gemma
Tuesday 26th July 2022 | View all Blogs

Time is flying by, and we're already on our sixth Meet the Team blog, with many more to come! This time, we're introducing you to the head of our customer service team, Gemma.

Hi Gemma! Could you tell us a bit about yourself and what you do here?

Hello! I'm the Business Support Manager here at PalletOnline, so I oversee the customer care team, help with any issues we might have and also help with any day-to-day duties. I also look after insurance claims if goods have been damaged in transit and any full load requests we have.

Wow! Sounds like a truckload of responsibility
What do you enjoy the most about working here?

I think the best thing about working at PalletOnline is that everyone is a team player and we all help each other. Everyone is also very friendly, and we all work together!

What dish do you cook best?

I would say I cook a good Chilli or Curry. I love cooking from scratch and it became a big thing in lockdown. I even love having a go at making homemade poppadoms.

Poppadoms from scratch? I like it!
Are you more of a morning or evening person?

I'm definitely an evening person! Everyone knows not to speak to me first thing at home - I'm awake by the time I get to work.

Cats or dogs?

Dogs all the way! Although saying that, I don't dislike cats, I'm actually allergic to them.

Allergic to cats? That's a claws for concern!
What object do you misplace or lose the most?

Earrings! Although I don't wear them for work, I can never find them when I want them

Where is your favourite place to go on holiday?

I love Cornwall. If I could move there tomorrow I would, it's like a completely different way of living. Everyone is so friendly and there is no rush for anything.

Fun fact: Cornish pasties contribute around £150million to the local economy.

Anyone else hungry?
What is your favourite season?

My favourite season has to be summer. I'm quite a nesh person so I love the hotter weather.

What is your favourite dessert?

My favourite dessert is cheesecake, but I'm more of a savoury person so I'd rather have a bag of crisps over a cake.

If you could learn any language, what would it be?

I've always wanted to speak German. I'm not sure why, but it's always seemed like quite an interesting language.

What career did you dream of having as a kid?

I wanted to be a solicitor when I was growing up, but my lovely careers advice lady told me I wasn't clever enough!

Favourite TV show?

Favourite TV show... that's a hard one! I love a good drama, but I would have to say my favourite TV show is Ashes To Ashes.

It's been great getting to know you, Gemma!
