Guess who's back? We’ve missed you – have you missed us?

We're thrilled to announce that we have a new member joining our team! Get ready to meet Craig, our new Customer Service Manager.

Keep reading to learn more about his role, passions, and what he’ll be bringing to our incredible team!

Hi Craig, can you tell me a bit about yourself, what you do, and your passions outside of work?

I’m Craig, newly appointed Customer Service Manager here at PalletOnline. My role is all about making the customer experience as smooth and hassle-free as possible, whilst streamlining processes, and improving customer satisfaction.

My life revolves around my 8-year-old son Ozzie, my partner Michelle and Ellie the dog. I travel around the country most weekends as Oz plays ice hockey for Nottingham and football locally.

In my spare time, I am a semi-professional ice hockey referee, which also sends me around the country officiating the second tier of ice hockey in the UK (NIHL National League).

How are you finding your role so far?

The team has been amazing and made me feel so welcome. They have helped me to get an initial understanding of the systems and what the job entails.

I have been spending some time with Intercom as its capability around AI seems fantastic. It needs to be developed at the correct pace for both customers and us.

In the first 3 weeks, we have sent the new answer bot live, which is already helping us map out the customer journey.

What's your favourite way to unwind after a busy day?

My son loves his sports, so after work, we go to play football in the garden or jump on the ice for hockey training, we have a drive home, winding down and just chatting. Nothing better than just listening to what he has to say.

If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why?

Time travel - so I could keep in touch with my family throughout the years, plus I’ve always wanted a hoverboard.

What's the best piece of advice you've ever received?

Life moves fast. Live within the moment. For this reason, you will never see me at a sports/live event taking photos, I would rather watch it and live it.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go?

Aruba. When I worked in the travel industry Aruba Tourism presented to us what looks like an amazing place, a tropical paradise in the Dutch Caribbean. It’s known for its flamingos on the beach, stunning blue waters, and lots of fun luxury hotels.

Good choice! A place I would love to go.
What's one thing on your bucket list you hope to achieve soon?

Officiate an Elite League ice hockey game - that’s the aim in the next two years.

What's your favourite book or movie and why?

Shrek is my go-to for a laugh.

Why did Shrek start using PalletOnline? Because he was sick of medi-ogre deliveries!
If you could have dinner with any historical figure, who would it be?

Not sure this counts, but, I would like to have had dinner with John Candy, as he was in all of my favourite films growing up and I have amazing family memories of that time. I am sure that meal would have been fun.

What's a skill you’d love to learn or improve?

I am very much a fan of AI, this is an area to focus on and learning for me, specifically, about how this will develop within a Customer Service function.

What's your go-to comfort food?

Tuna and pasta bake.

Dinner at Craig's anyone?
What's the most interesting thing you've learned recently?

I am currently working with the intercom platform, which is new to me. This is the omni-channel customer communication platform that PalletOnline uses, and it offers a wealth of opportunities to not only automate the more simplistic tasks but also to significantly increase Customer Satisfaction levels whilst producing customer insights to help us grow the customer base.
