Summer Pallet Creations For Kids

Not only are you reusing a product, making it more environmentally friendly, but it's also a cheaper alternative. Plus, you get to spend quality time with the kids.

Grab a cuppa (or a glass of wine) and have a read through some fun ways to keep busy this summer.

Just a Warning Before We Start: Beware of Splinters!

Wooden pallets can have rough edges and splinters that may cause injury. To stay safe follow these tips:

Wear Gloves- sturdy gloves to protect your hands.

Sand Thoroughly – smooth surfaces are less likely to injure you.

Inspect Pallets – check for loose or protruding nails and remove them.

Use Safety Gear- Goggles, when sanding or sawing.

Where can I find Pallets?

Local Warehouses, Retail Stores, Construction Sites, Industrial Suppliers, Online Marketplaces, Recycling Centres, Local Businesses

 Pallet Swing: Swing and Play

Remember those swings in the park? You can create your own with a pallet to be made into a seat.

Attach some sturdy ropes, hang it from a tree, and swing into nostalgia. Just make sure it’s strong enough to hold the big kids (yes, we mean adults too).

Now this one is my favourite!

Build a minigolf course with pallets as obstacles and pathways, kids can design their own course and enjoy a round of mini golf right in the garden.

Pallet Paddling Pool

Create the shape out of a pallet, dismantled or not depending on how big and deep you want it, and then line the bottom of the pool with tarpaulins and fill it with water.

Or if you’re feeling super creative, build the pool in the shape of a ship, so your kids can feel like sailors or even pirates.

When the kids have gone to bed and it’s still sunny, take a break from building all those pallet activities. Create a space just for you. Make it as simple or as extravagant as you like. You deserve it!

Please drink responsibly (or don’t, I’m not in charge)
